Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

How would Mexico know that he left the country if he was not deported and went back because of a medical family issue? His chances of applying for visa are slim?

Mexico would not know he has been in the U.S. unlawfully all this time. However, when he applies for any type of U.S. visa, the U.S. Consulate/Dept of State will ask him about where he has lived, worked, etc. If he lies & the U.S. Consulate catches this, he risks being barred from re-entering the U.S.
