Misdemeanor and green card

My friend was having some arguments with his wife, police came and filed Misdemeanor case and have asked him to come to DOA office. Please Advise how he can come out of this case and not to affect his green card.He has a got a criminal lawyer and he is asking him not to worry as it is a minor case, but poor guy is reading internet and he and and his wife are very much worried on the immigration. so please advice what needs to be done?

Hello,

If he has been a "green card" holder for more than 5 years and have been living in the U.S. more than 7 years, then a misdemeanor conviction should not be a major problem. However, he may have to fight his case before an Immigration Judge.
