Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

N400 Notice of denial due to abandonment

Hi,

I am a US Permanent resident and I filed for US citizenship. I got the I797C (the notice of action) showing the correct address and date of birth. I did not get any fingerprinting notice but got a letter from the USCIS after ~5 months that my application has been deemed abandoned and denied due to not getting my fingerprints done. It also said that I can file for motion to reopen according to 8CFR103.5 within 30 days of the notice. I replied to the USCIS , with a photocopy of my I797C requesting to reopen my case as I did not get the fingerprinting notice.

Can someone plz advise me what to expect from the USCIS and how to proceed with my case?

Thanks a lot,

Gautam

Just wait for the response. If they agree, you will get a fingerprint date, and it will proceed. If not, you may simply have to reapply. Good luck.
