Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

How do they know if you overstayed

I was wondering how the government of the US would find out if someone overstayed a Tourist Visa, do they come look for you etc.?

Re: How do they know if you overstayed

Yes they know. The question is whether they will act upon it. Very often they do especially lately. It is recommended that you have the phone or the contact of an immigration attorney in your area. Note that if you are married to a US citizen, you can always adjust without leaving the country.

Also note that if you overstay for more than 180 days, and you leave you will be barred from entering for 3 years. If you overstay for more than 365 days, you will be barred for 10 years.
