Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

how to pay Medi-Cal bill and remove it from record

dear sir/madame: would you please help me? I live in mexico and cannot get a visa to he usa because I have two records in my file (1) unpaid medi-cal bill and (2) misrepresentation of unemployment record. The medi-cal was due to my child birth in a hospital in pasadena, california 14 years ago. how can go about paying the bill and how can I get it off my record?

In another related issue, 15 months ago I married an american and we had a child together and the newly born child is granted a us citizenship via Child born abroad certificate. my husband and I are currently apply for an immigrant visa and is waiting for an interview in juarez, mexco. it is unlikely that we will get the approval due to my two aforementioned records. My thinking on paying for the medi-cal bill and getting it off my record may help my case at the juarez interview. i appreciate much if you can provide me with legal guidance in these issues. respectfully submitted

Absolutely, paying the bill helps you. Also, your husband's income helps show you are not likely to become a public charge in the future. If his income is not big, another sponsor would be helpful.

Not much time has passed to get over the other issue, the fraud. For that you need to show extreme hardship to your husband if you were not permitted to come to the U.S. (or he were required to live with you in Mexico). I could try helping you make your case. If you choose to do this alone and are denied, it could be handled again in the future. Time will be on your side. You should be represented at least in the future if you're not now.

You really should consult an Immigration Attorney, because there are many ways to get residency, some of which you may already have. This matter is complex and you should not try to do it yourself so you should get an attorney to discuss your options. If you are located in Southern California, you can email me your contact info, so we can discuss your particular situation. There is no charge for consultation
