Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
In Prison with an immigration hold
Person is 22 yrs old and was brought into the US illegally by his family when he was 2. Graduated US high school.
After high school applied for college but becauseof his status financal aid was not available.
Arrested 2 years ago for possession of a small amount of Crystal meth and did jail time and placed on Probation. Arrested again 7 months ago with a small amount of Crystal Meth and sentenced to 18 months in prison for violation of probation. Release date is 12/27 but has an immigration hold. What advantage would it be to have an attorney?
