Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Question about AR-11 address change

I made a mistake of filing AR-11, and putting down ''student'' instead of ''visitor.'' next to my A#. Should I refile the AR-11 to correct the mistake? I do not want this to haunt me in the future. I read online that USCIS likes to deny future immigration cases if an alien misrepresents information.

Re: Question about AR-11 address change

If a misrepresentation is intentional, it can haunt you. If it's a mistake, it's not a big deal, so you could go ahead and submit a revised version. Query though why you would have chosen student? Are you violating your status? If so, then "correcting" to visitor would be a misrepresentation you wouldn't want to make. That sort of representation could hurt you. I'd need more information to advise you as I don't know what status you arrived in, what status you now hold and whether you're a student just in your home country. This and other information could affect my advice.
