question on h1 extension

hi

my initial h1b is expiring on june 2009.

i just applied for my h1b extension on premium processing..

say it it gets approved by this month, will my new i94 be valid until feb 2012 or june 2012...

please clarify

I would have answered sooner but was down with the flu.

It depends on the dates requested on the petition and when your new employer expects you to begin working. If in June, then that would be the start date, but it could be much earlier, with a date just after filing because you're authorized to work for the new employer upon filing, assuming of course that the second employer wants you to begin working for them sooner than later.

I have given several lectures to attorney audiences to teach them how to do H-1s under the auspices of bar associations, so this work is in my experience to a great extent.
