Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Just received notice today that my Naturalizatoin interview is scheduled on Christmas Eve. I have already booked a flight home for the holidays. I know USCIS is extremely backed up, should I keep this appointment or ask to reschedule? (Is a flight/vacation sufficient reason for rescheduling? I don't want to seem as if I'm not taking this seriously, but cannot change the flight without penalty).
I also have no immediate plans to travel outside of the U.S. so I'm not in a huge rush, but don't want to have this reflect unfavorably if I request rescheduling.
Thank for listening!

You can absolutely request a reschedule. Instructions on how to do so are located on the interview notice.
