shoplifting
I've been arrested for shoplifting in Ca ,for 3 items less than 100 dollars, I'm going to court this october.but I was wondering if this incident will affect my eligibility in the future to apply for a residence

You may still be eligible to apply for lawful permanent residence if your crime falls in tha category of the "petty theft exemption".

For petty theft..there should not be any problem. Make sure you plea properly in the criminal case.
