Something doesn't sound right. One doesn't get a green card revoked for three years. Either it's revoked or not. When he is released from criminal custody there will be an immigration hold on him and he will likely be in removal proceedings. Whether he qualifies to keep his green card or re-apply depends on the details of his criminal history and other removal issues that could exist in his case.

The attorney would need to know the reasons for revocation of your son's green card and find out whether he can re-apply for green card.

We suggest you to consult with an immigration attorney.
