Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

My son is in New Zealand doing missionary work. His visa expires four days prior to him coming home. What can he do, if anything. Will they stop him at the airport/ fine him??? Thank you for your help

I can only answer questions pertaining to U.S. immigration laws, however, if he is a U.S. citizen, the fact that his New Zealand visa has expired will have no effect on re-entering the United States. Whether or not he will have an issue with his departure from New Zealand is another story. You would need to contact an attorney who practices immigration law in New Zealand regarding the latter issue.
