Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Sponsoring husband if you have lost your naturalization certificate
a naturalized US Citizen who has lost her naturalization certificate wants to marry and then sponsor the spouse who is currently on a visitors visa in USA. She filed an "n-565" form for replacing lost naturalization certificates on July 1, 1997 and has a receipt for it. however, she still has not received the replacement certificate which "ins" said will be given in 6 months. will that individual encounter problems/delays with the "ins"? what steps should this individual take in order to mitigate problems/delays with the "ins"?

Re: Sponsoring husband if you have lost
If they have a US passport that is legal proof of citizenship. I always advise clients to immediately apply for a passport upon becoming a citizen.
