can I stay more than 3 months in the united states with a visa waiver ?

I am french and I have a visa waiver for 90 days. I would like to stay more. can I have an extension ? if I go to mexico, and I cross the border, can I have an other visa waiver? Thank you to answer me as soon as possible, I leave soon.

You can apply for an extension. You must apply before your current one expires. If this is your first trip here or you have not been here for a while it will likely be granted. If you file for the extension near the end of your deadline you are allowed to remain here while the application is pending. Going to Mexico is a risk. They are not required to let you back into the US.
