Does Swedish Immigration check marital status like if you've really been married before?

I could not advise you on how the Government of Sweden operates. However, if a person was to apply for a "greencard" through marriage in the United States, and that person either was still married in another country, or failed to disclose a previous marriage, there could be consequences, including denial of the application and possible removal from the country. Therefore, I would make sure you are legally divorced before getting re-married and never lie on any immigration application.
