unauthorized work for foreign student
My boyfriend is a foreign student. He helped out at a musical performance one time for a friend last year and got paid. His status only allowed on-campus work, but this one-day job had been record. How likely will he be expelled from United States? Will there be fines?
In the extreme case, if immigration service expell him from US and not allow him to return to US within certain number of years, is there are any ways to bring him back? For an instant, I am a US citizen. Will the bond of a marriage secure his position in US?

Your boyfriend does not have much to worry about based on just day. In the future, you may consider a spousal petition or a fiance visa.

I do not think...your boyfriend will be deported for working one day off campus

if you marry the man, you can assure him permanent resident status and it will not matter that he worked one day off campus. however, I still do not think he will encounter much issue with the fact that he worked the one day even if he does not marry you.

It is unlikely that he would be deported. Marriage can solve such problems.
