Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

unfair agreement on foreign nurse

hello, I am a foreign trained CA RN and just arrived here 3 months ago. I was petitioned by a staffing agency under an immigrant visa located in LA. My contract with the agency was not employee friendly, I can say this because they told me to shoulder all the immigration expenses in immigrating here, the only thing they spent on me was the filing of my papers at INS, costing $125, they promised to reimbursed all of it once I get here. But now they are telling me that they'll reimburse it after i finish my 2 years contract. I don't see there sincerity with our agreement. Now, I would like to be employed in a different agency, but there's a term in the contract that if I breach it I will have to pay them an amount of $8,000 and they can pull-out their immigration sponsorship on me. Is it possible even though I already got my green card? I also heard of buying out of contract, are these things possible?

I would appreciate your response to my query.
