Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
(VERY URGENT!) My boyfriend has been arrested on 10/25/11 because I told a police officer that he hit me after she asked about a couple of bruises on my cheek. However,he is not totally at fault because we were in a very heated argument and I hit him first(which i failed to mention to the police because i was still angry with him). He is now facing two charges(a misdemeanor and a felony) that the court has ordered. From what I have been told by his family, my boyfriend could possibly be sent to jail in mexico(because he was not born in the US but was brought here by his parents as a baby).I'm 30 weeks pregnant by my boyfriend,I'm 17 until June,2012, and I am desperate to find out how to convince the court to reduce or drop charges on him. Most importantly,I need to know if it is even fair to deport him due to the fact that his parents brought him here as a baby.If it is fair, what can I do to keep him in the country so that we can be together and raise our unborn child? Please help ASAP his next court date is on Nov.2.

He needs a lawyer to defend himself. In criminal court they'll give him an attorney free of charge if he has no income. In immigration court he needs to hire one at his expense. You should tell his defense lawyer that you hit him first so he/she can defend him properly. You should also tell the prosecutor what you failed to mention the first time.
