I have a c1/d visa which will expire in 2012. Can i use this visa as a transit visa for bermuda . I was approved a Bermuda visa and work permit but i need american transit visa

Yes, you should be able to. A transit visa is necessary for work en route elsewhere but through the U.S.

The C-1/D is used for individuals to be admitted to the US to board a ship on which they will work as crew members. A C-1 generally can be used as a transit visa, which should allow you to pass through the US enroute to Bermuda. If there is no specific annotation on your C-1/D visa, you should not have a problem using it for this purpose, however, if there is a specific notation as to what cruise or shipping line you were issued the visa to work for, then you must be prepared to answer questions as to your purpose in traveling to Bermuda upon arrival in the US.
