Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Visas for Iranian Citizens
I am looking to obtain a working visa (L or E) with citizenship from Iran. I currently have a business in Iran so I would like to get L visa, in the alternative an E-2 visa. However, there are sanctions against Iran that make getting the L or E visa difficult.
Is there any good immigration lawyers with experience in getting L or E visas from persons from Iran? Please explain how to avoid the sanctions on my business. I will pay any fee if you can get me this visa. Thank you.

Re: Visas for Iranian Citizens
The sanctions were modified as of April 1999, and would not be applicable to L or H visas as long as the services involved are not tied to the Iranian Government as opposed to private citizens of Iran. Also the E-2 visa is a viable option as long as there is a treaty in existance between the Iran and US which there is.
Re: Visas for Iranian Citizens
I just want to add that I agree with the previous reply that the E-2 visa is workable. However, according to my reading of the April 1999 relaxed regulations, even employees of "a business entity or other organization in Iran" are subject to the sanctions. Therefore, the L visa won't work if you intend to use your business in Iran as the parent company to transfer you to a subsidiary in the U.S. The L visa would work if you're an employee of a non-Iranian company.
