Wedding: Where do I start?

I plan to have a wedding in Costa Mesa, CA, my spouse is a citizen, I am a foreigner student. Do I go to the wedding first or to the immigration lawyer? Do I have to wait for the marriage certificate to arrive - my girlfriend had to wait 8 days - before I can do anything else? When can I start the doctor-medical tests? Who gives me the list which doctors I can go to (my lawyer or the INS)?

What fees to expect for filing the paperwork - or is it cheaper if I do it on my own & I only ask the lawyer to check it? How many visits does it take to the lawyer?

You should contact a local attorney in the LA/Southern Calif area to help you with this work since the case is filed in the INS LA District Office. Trying to save money now may cost a lot more in the long run. I'm in LA and file these cases a lot.
