Re: After weeding

You need to get the official marriage certificate from the county records office. If you just married last week, you probably just have the certificate that you received on the day of the wedding. You need to send that into the county recorders office and request a new one from them. During such time, you can gather other documents that you need. You can file for an Adjustment of Status right away, assuming you entered the country in legal nonimmigrant status. Call me if you like. 408.293.2026

Re: After weeding

The best thing you can do is hire an attorney (not an immigration consultant or notario) to help you with your adjustment of status application. Though you may want to hire an attorney close to your home, you do not have to as immigration attorneys can represent you virtually from anywhere in the US. If you require more information, feel free to call me at 415-834-1884.
