Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
I am working with an undocumented minor (age 16) who is currently detained at San Francisco juvenile hall. He recently received a sustained petition for assault. He also has an ICE hold. What will happen to him when he is released from juvenile hall. If he is picked up by ICE, where will he go and what can he take with him?
Thanks

Unfortunately, he will be taken to a detention center. It is hard to say which one because that is ultimately up to the ICE agent. Even then, detainees get moved around to different facilities. As far as what he can take with him, the answer is very little. They don't have enough space for every individual's belongings.
