Wrongful Detention

My dad flew in the LAX on holiday with a Canadian passport, was detained, arrested, and then denied entry after a 24hr ordeal.

They did not site any reason for doing this. It was purely racial profiling and they had nothing on him. They were merely fishing for an excuse.

Now he is back home after paying for all his travel expenses.

Who is responsible? and who is accountable?

Surely there was a reason this happened. He would not have been denied entry otherwise. He needs a lawyer who knows how to operate the system to find out the information. A FOIA request will provide documentation. Speaking with the officer in charge might be a possibility.

I am liaison to the Port of Entry at LAX on behalf of the Immigration Section of the LA County Bar Assn. I meet regularly with the Port Director. If in LA, I know the actors already. If elsewhere, I have access to them already.
