Auto ins. brokerage changing coverage

I asked my broker to change my full coverage policy to a libality only policy on a vehicle I am financing. My question is if they did not notify the finance company of the change is the change legal?

The answer is yes. However, this most likely was against your finance agreement with the lease company that requires you to keep in force collision coverage on your vehicle.
