Auto insurance claims
How long does an auto insurance have to resolve a auto theft claim? And after a certain amount of months can the insuree be reimbursed of expenses?

Re: Auto insurance claims
It is "reasonable" time. I had a case wherein the insurance carrier delayed payment claiming they were investigating the claim 2 1/2 years after the loss. We filed a bad faith lawsuit which settled for about 8 times the value of the car.

Re: Auto insurance claims
A "reasonable time" is the usual answer. If you believe that they are not doing something right, you should bring your insurance policy and declarations page to a lawyer, along with the police report to review. There might be a provision that requires arbitration within a year and all sorts of other traps which the lawyer should be able to locate and on which (s)he could give you advice.
