Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
Can auto insurance and health insurance both pay?
I was in a car accident which resulted in auto damages as well as a hospital stay for me. I was not at fault. My health insurance has already covered most of the hospital stay. When the at fault party's insurance reimburses me for part of the hospital stay, do I owe that money to my health insurance company?

Re: Can auto insurance and health insurance both pay?
I am sorry to hear about your injury. Generally, you must pay back your health insurer, but you can negotiate the amount you will need to pay. They will likely assert a lien on your proceeds, anyway. Feel free to contact me if you need help doing this. Thanks for your question and good luck.
