Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
I am being sent bills for $4800 to cover a bodily injury claim. My son was uninsured while in an accident in my car. I have insurance, my son was inadvertantly excluded from the policy. That's not the issue today. The bill came from a debt collector almost 1 yr after accident whom we thought was with a woman. The insurance company nor an atty ever contacted me about bodily injury. All of a sudden I got a bill. I only had received a bill to repair "her" car, which I did pay. I have researched the name, family and address of the claimant and it shows the person is a "man" not a woman. I'm starting to feel like there is some kind of fraud going on. What are my 1st steps?
