car accident

i was in a car accident, my insurance had lapsed so other party's insurance is sueing me accident wasn't totally my fault will i lose no matter what because i had no insurance?

No. Your lack of insurance means that you can't recover for pain and suffering, but does not affect the rest of your rights. Of course, without insurance you will have to pay your own lawyer or represent yourself. That is likely to be a bigger problem for you.
