Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
car accident!
Hi,
I was involved in an accident 4 months ago and I just got a call from the inssurance company for the person who was infront of the person infront of me! there was 3 of us I hit someone and that person hit someone else infront of him and the police report states that it was my mistake! Now the issurance company for the person that got hit by the person infront of me called me and they said that I owq them $3,000 I don't have the money and I believe that the accident wasn't my fault! Please advise me on what to do, i already told them I can't pay anything because First it wasn't my fault even though the police report says that it was and second because I don't have that amout of money! I don't know what is the next step for them now could they suie me??? and if they do how would that be handeled? Please advise me

If you had car insurance (or the owner of the car your were driving did), IMMEDIATELY report this accident to your/their company. They will defend the claim. Generally, you would be liable for all damages if you caused the 1st impact which then caused the 2nd impact. If you/the owner of the car did not have insurance, you/the owner need to immediately retain an attorney to defend you and the owner. Good luck and thanks for your question.
