Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
So i got in a car accident last year with a forest ranger who was driving a dodge 3500. My car was totaled and I broke his front axel and did some damage to his front end. I was in coma for 4 weeks. I just got a letter from the guy's company's insurance provider saying that I owe them money for the damages I caused to their truck. They sent me this letter over a year after my accident which threatens that they will file an SR1 if i don't respond within the next 45 days. I wasn't insured at the time either. I got a ticket for not having insurance but the judge dropped it i think because he felt bad for everything that i was going through. So I guess I don't really have a question, but more I'm just looking for advice. I wanted to know, if anything, what I should do before I responded or any recommendations you may have for this whole ordeal.

Were you at fault for the accident? If so, then you owe them for whatever their damages are. However, you should have a lawyer review your case in case there is comparative fault. We offer free consultation.
Good luck.
