Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
My car caught on fire right after leaving the mechanics shop. The fire man said that the cause of the fire came from the part the shop replaced. My incurance said the car is a total loss. What I am wondering is the mechanic liabale for the damages.

It sounds like the mechanic probably is, but since you are insured, that would seem to be an issue for your insurance company to seek reimbursement for what they pay you.
