Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
Car Rental Fees for damages.
We rented a car and did not get the insurance. Was an accident and my insurance company paid for repairs. I have a $500 deductible that I owe the rental company. They want to charge me an additional $150 processing fee. Am I obligated to pay the $150. My insurance company says no.

Re: Car Rental Fees for damages.
The simple answer is that you need to read the contract with the rental company. If it says in the contract that there is a charge, then you have to pay it. If it does not say that, then ask the rental company for the basis of this charge.
