Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
my car was stolen last month. my insurance company usaa gave me a total loss date of 14 may 2012 which has come and gone because they located it in mexico and want to try to recover it but cannot confirm an address or specific location. is there anything i can do since my rental coverage runs out on tuesday and i am still with out my car.

You do not have to accept the car back. You can demand to be compensated for its value as a totalled vehicle.
Demand immediate payment for the stolen car and an extension of your rental car coverage.
The fault is not yours, It is the fault of the thief who stole your car and USAA for placing their interests ahead of your interest. That may constitute bad faith on their part.
