Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
classic cars
I had a collission with a clasic car.The repair on it runs over $15,000. My insurance wont pay the full figure, just p[artial, the ''blue book value''. This guy had no collission insurance on his own. I never tought that I have to repair someone else car while I carry an auto insurance with collission protection. How to handle this?

Re: classic cars
I am presently representing a classic auto owner who is invoved in a similar case. The vehicle is not "blue book valued" as it is a classic auto. Your insurer is wrong, and your property damage liability insurance will provide you a defense and indemnity up to your policy limits. Your insurer does not have the right to pay its limits and leave you still responsible to the claimant. If it attempts to do so, it has breached its duty to defend you. You should consider contacting an attorney to prevent further problems.
