Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

Deposition transcript was severly inaccurate

I took my deposition in Dec.2004 I just recieved the copt to

notarize and return to attny. To my surprise it was a joke the reporter had left out Q. left in A. so whole paragraphs ran together and made no sense there were additions and subtractions of statements.she mixed up my attrny with ins. attrny. statements and there were some things that i know didn`t come out of my mouth the characteristics of my speach weren`t accurate.a few down right LIES. what is that about is it common to find the transcript so jumbled?? Q.2 I found out that the 17yo driver had 3 other kids in his car at time of accident people kept saying no it was only him but the woman working in the veteranarian hosp. said she gave one of his passangers a towel he was bleeding from head and another was complaining of stomach pain neither of these kids were in the police report. ?WHY NOT?

Re: Deposition transcript was severly inaccurate

It's your job to correct it to the best of your ability. I once had a court reporter misquote my client saying he talked to the decedent, instead of the survivor. The reporter was on cold medication at the time. We all have off-days. Unfortunately, this reporter's occurred while you testified. Don't sign it unless you make it reflect what actually happened. Then your lawyer should notify the court reporter (not the usual thing to do) of the serious errors in the transcript, and perhaps the reporter's company, as well.

As far as the accident goes, either someone did not tell the truth or the passengers fled, or both.
