Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
Due to the slowness of my husbands medical insurance company and medical clinical to provide him with appropriate medical care in a timely fashion, it appears that he may lose his job. Can the medical company or the insurance company be held liable for this loss?

It is possible that they can be held liable, yes. It is not certain by any means, but it is possible. If the clinic was medically negligent, then it and the doctors may be liable for medical malpractice. If the insurance company wrongfully delayed or withheld benefits they may be liable for breach of the insurance contract and bad faith insurance practices.
