Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

No fault uninsured

I was sitting at a stoplight and was hit. I have no insurance. My car is a total loss. What are the repercussions going to be for me?

How long does their insurance have to reimburse me the cash I have been spending to get my car out of tow, loss wages, prescriptions, rentals etc.

The other person's insurance company will not pay out of the kindness of their hearts. They will only pay if you have an attorney who will sue them if they dont. If you are serious about pursuing this, let me know. Free consult.

Your question presumes that the other driver's insurance owes you a legal duty to handle your claim promptly. It doesn't. Insurers have such duties to their own clients, not to the people who sue those clients.

Once you and the insurance company agree on terms of a settlement, it may still take a month or more before it pays. If you want to get compensated more quickly -- and to get a fair amount -- you should get a lawyer.
