Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

Homeowners Insurance Claim disbursement

We had a small water pipe burst at our home while we were out of town and cased the entire house to be filled w/ a few inches of water. The work was completed and for about a month we tried contacting the insurance company to release the funds to pay the contrator. After awhile we got part of the fees and later found out that the adjuster never submitted the supplamental adjustments he had ok'ed w/ the contrator until finally the policy examinor contacted the contractor directly and got the required information and after makig us wait even longer, the contractor placed a mechanic's lien against the property and the insurance now tells us after making us wait that they won't be albe to cover the full amt due to

depreciassion nor the interest that the contractor is charging in the lien. Is there anything I can do?

Re: Homeowners Insurance Claim disbursement

Consider writing a letter to the supervisor of whoever denied this claim. Put the details down, including the name of the adjuster who made the agreements with the contractor. Demand you be made whole since the insurer made the agreements with the contractor, you didn't. If the insurer doesn't

remedy the situation to your satisfaction, speak to a lawyer about suing for damages and bad faith.
