Re: injury compensation
California has adopted a statute which precludes recovery of general damages by someone who was the owner or driver of a car which was not covered with liability insurance on the date of the accident. These are the pain and suffering type damages. You may still recover your special damages, including reasonable and necessary medical expenses, lost wages and similar type future damages. There are facts which may modify this but the above is the general rule.
