Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
insurance liability
I was involved in an auto accident that was my fault. The injured party hasn't settled with my insurance company yet. I am being married in October and am afraid if this hasn't settled yet they may try to include my new husbands assets in this. He was not involved in the accident. Should I postpone the wedding until this has resolved or can they not come after him since he wasn't my husband at the time?

Re: insurance liability
Unless the value of the injuries and property damage was above your policy limits, you shouldn't have a problem. That's what insurance is for.
For heaven's sake, don't postpone the wedding because of this.
