Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

No insurance Suspended license Accident

I was involved in an accident with a friend's car. She didn't have insurance or even know how to drive. I offered to drive for an errand even though my license was suspended. We were making a left turn when another car ran a red light and hit us. A report was filed, and I was cited for driving with a suspended license and the other driver was cited for running a red light. My friend's car has extensive damage. I am wondering whether or not the other driver is responsible for fixing the damage to my friend's car? Are we entitled for personnal injuries compensation? Or because of the status of my license, am I ultimately responsible for the accident and repairs?

Re: No insurance Suspended license Accident

If neither you nor your friend were insured, you would not be able to recover for your pain and suffering. If the other driver was cited, you should immediately consult an attorney to protect your rights A.S.A.P. before discussing anything with anyone including the other driver's insurance company. I will gladly consult with you if you want more information. Good luck.
