Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

Legal Definition

Is there a standard defition for:

''self-sustaining employment'' ?

Disabled dependent child will loss health coverage under parents plan because he now works 30 hours per week. But would be eligible if unable to obtain ''self-sustaining'' employment. Our agurement is that this min wage job is not ''self-sustaining'' and child is still over 50% dependent upon parents due to congenital disability.
