How long can my family and I stay on COBRA? Does it matter whether I have continued to be gainfully employed by a company which offers health insurance plans, since going on COBRA with my prior employer's plan?

I'm pretty sure you do not qualify for COBRA if you have another plan available through a new employer. In addition, why would you want to pay for COBRA if you have a new plan available? COBRA is invariably far more expensive than any employer's plan I've ever heard of.
