Overpayment Recovery

My prior insurance company paid for drug prescription, after my coverage ended. They did so, because of their faulty record keeping. Is it therefore, their responsibility to ''eat'' the charge, or I am i liable for the charges?

You are liable but it may be more trouble than it is worth for them to collect.

You or your subsequent insurer are responsible if the prior insurer made a mistake. How did the your part of the mistake occur, that is, why was the bill sent to the wrong insurer in the first place?
