Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
I purchased a car "as is" from a dealership. My insurance company insured the vehicle "as is." Three weeks later I was driving home from work, and I hit a dip in the road and consequently "bottomed-out." My insurance said that they would cover it, but after they inspected it, they said that there was previous repair done to that area and the repair must have been faulty. Thus, they are now saying that they won't cover it. I think that I should be covered as there was no possible way to know that there were faulty repairs done. My car s now in a shop and I do not have a way to fix it. Is there anyway to get my insurance to cover it?

I don't know what "as is" coverage is for a vehicle, as almost all policies cover either comprehensive or collision. Read your policy and their denail letter and see for yourself what is insured.
Also, you might do is contact the previous owner and rescind the transaction to get your money back. If it was repaired in a shop, go back to the shop. Make the insurer prove what they are saying is correct.
