Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
I had sewer backup in January 2023. Plumbing company came in and asked me to open a claim with insurance company claiming that it will be covered. They asked me to sign the paperwork so that they can take care of the emergency situation as it was category 3 water damage. After they submitted the invoice and paperwork to insurance they declined coverage and told me it was due to soft clog. I ended up paying almost 20K to plumbing company for the repair work. I filed complaint with California Department of Insurance and they responded saying that they cannot help with the issue and that I contact attorney for next steps. Looking for anyone who can provide guidance and advice.
