Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
Subrogation
Hi,
I'd like to learn is there a possibility that my auto insurance will subrogate and try to get compensation from other (at-fault) party for what insurance pay me as covered for Uninsured Motorist. If yes it could be a reason to try
to settle directly with other party without insurance
involvement.
Thanks.

Re: Subrogation
Insurance companies typically do try to subrogate when they see a reasonable prospect of recovering funds. However, if the other party is truly at fault then I'm not sure why you want to avoid going through the insurer.
