My unregistered and uninsured car that has a dead battery and was left at a previous residence until it could be towed. During which time someone ran into the side and back of it somehow. The driver took off. What can be done?

You could register and insure the car and have the dents fixed, and when you insure it make sure you ask about uninsured motorist coverage.
There is no one to seekdamages from. You could try the State Ccrime Victims Fund, but it normally runs out of money quickly.
You might check around and see if anyone had a surveillance camera pointing at your vehicle, and view the video. A long shot. Or, you might ask around and see if there are any witnesses to the incident. If a witness can identify the person(s) who did it, you can sue the person for the damages to your vehicle. If it truly was an accident, you might be out of luck.
