Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
UPS insurance claim
UPS lost a package I shipped to my customer containing a $2500 brand new computer. I only insured the shipment for $1000 because I thought it would be impossible for them to lose a 70lb package the size of a bath tub. I figured the worst they could do is break the computer and in that case I could fix it for $1000. UPS did not lose the package but delivered it to the wrong address(the Dell factory). UPS has failed in their pathetic attempt to retrieve the package. Is there any way I can sue UPS for the total value of the loss? Or is it my responsibility to insure the package for full value no matter how careless UPS is? I would greatly appreciate any help with this question. Thanks........ --name removed--Iwase

Re: UPS insurance claim
It is your responsibility to insure it for the full value. UPS has limited their liability based on the contract. The most you will collect is the $1,000.
